COVID-19 Wedding Video for Two High School Sweethearts

Parker said it best: “It’s not what either of us expected…but it’s our story.”

Parker and Mikella’s COVID-19 wedding video turned out beautiful despite the rocky start.

They planned their wedding at Laurel Hill Farms on April 18, 2020. They had everything ready. All of the wedding vendors were booked and ready to go. She even found her dream dress at Simply Elegant Bridal. They had over 150 friends and family looking forward to celebrating their big day. We were so excited to capture film their wedding video.

Then, COVID-19 hit and everything changed. Because of recommended guidelines, they decided to cancel their big wedding. They decided to have a small intimate ceremony in their neighbor’s backyard instead. It may not have been the wedding day they expected, but it turned out just as special and beautiful.

About the Wedding Day

Only their bridesmaids, groomsmen and closest family members were included in the wedding festivities. The girls dressed at the ceremony house while the guys finished up at Mikella’s house next door. Parker’s parents set up the ceremony site including a beautiful arbor and some handmade signs for decoration. Their cousins prepared hors d’oeuvres and charcuterie made up of their favorite foods.  Everything came together perfectly.  While many of their friends couldn’t be there in person, they watched the ceremony via a live stream on Facebook.

Special Locations Around Fort Walton Beach

My favorite part of this wedding was taking the couple out the next day for more photos and videos. We wanted extra shots of them in their wedding dress and tuxedo. Since most things around town were still closed, we had the whole place to ourselves. We went all around Fort Walton Beach to the places that mean something special to them. We even went to the spot outside of their high school where they had their first kiss. I love how they took something tragic and turned it into something beautiful. Be sure to watch their COVID-19 wedding video and wish them well.

Engagement Photo Session

In case you missed their engagement photos, check them out now!

After rescheduling multiple times because of rain, we finally said enough is enough and took them anyway. The umbrella photos and rainy pictures turned out super cute and I’m so glad we went for it.
